Alternative repertoire will be approved on a case by case basis. All applicants must audition in person to be considered for admission and scholarship. DVDs from applicants living outside the continental U.S. will be considered on a case by case basis.

Undergraduate Degrees
Bachelor of Music Performance
- One movement from a J.S. Bach solo sonata or partita
- One movement of a standard concerto
- One additional contrasting piece. An etude is also accepted in this category.
It is highly recommended that at least one selection be performed from memory.
Bachelor of Music Education
- One movement from a J.S. Bach solo sonata or partita
- One movement of a standard concerto or sonata
It is highly recommended that at least one selection be performed from memory.
Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy
- Two contrasting movements from the standard violin literature
Graduate Degrees
Master of Music
- Two contrasting movements from any J.S. Bach solo sonata or partita
- One movement of a standard concerto
- One movement of a standard sonata Unaccompanied movements by Bach must be performed from memory. It is highly recommended that the concerto also be memorized.
Doctor of Musical Arts
- Two contrasting movements from any J.S. Bach solo sonata or partita
- One movement of a standard concerto
- One movement of a standard sonata
- A 20th-century work of the applicant’s choice. Unaccompanied movements by Bach and the concerto must be performed from memory.
